Autodesk Flow
Autodesk Flow is a company-wide cloud initiative aimed at improving interoperability between Autodesk products.
Empowering creators anywhere in the world to log in and work on a movie or game by managing assets and metadata centrally.
Autodesk Flow Capture
Autodesk acquired Moxion and Pix, two leading cloud-based production platforms, to streamline and modernize the content creation pipeline.
The technologies were to be unified under a new offering, Autodesk Flow, designed to deeply integrate with Autodesk’s broader suite of tools and enhance collaboration across the production workflow.
Goals
- Limit churn as existing users are migrated from Moxion and Pix to Autodesk Flow.
- Work with stakeholders from Moxion, Pix and Autodesk to align on an MVP feature set with a plan for fast-follow releases and longer term strategy.
- Work with Marketing to integrate new brand assets which are aligned with the Autodesk suite of tools.
Process
- Weekly standing meetings with Apple and NBCUniversal.
- Communicated design concepts and solutions to key audiences including executives and external stakeholders.
- Worked with the design team to create user flows and clickable prototypes to communicate before moving to development.
Managing assets with Autodesk Flow
- We redesigned playlist structures to better align with Autodesk’s ecosystem, enabling smoother interoperability with tools like 3DS Max, Maya, and ShotGrid.
- Optimized asset organization to handle high volumes of digital content throughout the entire production pipeline, enabling seamless collaboration from on-set capture to final delivery.
Centralized production pipieline metadata
- We centralized file metadata across Autodesk products to create a single source of truth, improving consistency and accelerating asset tracking.
- Enabled dynamic asset sorting by metadata type, making it easier for teams to locate, filter, and manage content throughout the production lifecycle.
Secure role-based permissions
- Share with confidence by enabling secure, role-based access for internal teams and external stakeholders without compromising sensitive content.
- Protect assets with automatic watermarking, deterring leaks and enabling traceability across review and approval workflows.
Collaborate with ease
- Work on assets at the same time as the rest of your team from anywhere in the world.
- Control who has access with deep security settings, including granular permissions, expiration dates, and audit trails to meet studio-grade compliance requirements.
Apple TV
Autodesk Flow has been designed for living room playback, ensuring creatives can review content on TVs to assess color, motion, and fidelity in context.
Design System
Contributed to the design system for Autodesk Flow and the broader enterprise design system, creating reusable components, documenting patterns, and designing user flows to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
